The basic rule of interior design for small apartments is keeping the furniture to a minimum. It doesn’t mean that you should replace your bed with a futon (unless you have a Japanese-themed room). Just pick smaller furniture and set them in the right way to make the space appear large. For the living room, you can opt for a small two- or three-seater simple couch, an LCD/LED TV, a stylish carpet, and a cane lamp shade to bring a cozy look. Fixing the TV on the wall is a great way to save floor space, so you can put low shelving table below it for placing the DVD player and stereo unit.
